PLMR is delighted to have won the award for “Best Campaign in Scotland” at the PRCA Awards 2021 for our “Save Scottish Bingo” campaign. The PRCA judges hailed the campaign as being, “An impressive integration of digital and consumer advocacy alongside traditional public affairs and media, delivering tangible policy impact for the client”.
Through a powerful combination of people power and political advocacy, PLMR worked with The Bingo Association to secure the future of the bingo sector in Scotland. In just three months we successfully persuaded the Scottish Government to redraft their Levels system to put the Bingo sector in a lower tier, resulting in an earlier reopening for bingo clubs and less harsh restrictions. Following this, we secured £2.3million in targeted, discretionary, funding from the Scottish Government – ensuring the survival of struggling clubs across Scotland.
The PRCA awards are the UK’s most prestigious public affairs awards and celebrate outstanding achievement in public affairs, and this award adds to PLMR’s growing trophy case.
Mo Hussein, PLMR’s Managing Director of Public Affairs and Innovation said:
“Winning ‘Best Campaign in Scotland’ is a fantastic result, and a testament to the hard-work and expertise of our public affairs team. The impact of the pandemic presented a challenge for all of us, but PLMR rapidly adapted to support our clients.”
“We are very proud to be recognised for this great achievement and above all, to have secured the survival of the bingo sector in Scotland – saving countless jobs in the process and ensuring that people across Scotland can continue to enjoy a fun night out in their local bingo club.”
“PLMR Scotland has once again demonstrated its unrivalled expertise and experience in engaging with the Scottish Government to secure positive change.”
